James E. Kuneman, O.D.

Doctor of Optometry James E. Kuneman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in 1990, and his professional degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis in 1994. As a student, Dr. Kuneman completed externship rotations with the Omega Eye Center in Memphis, as well as with a private practice in Mississippi.

A native of Oak Ridge, Dr. Kuneman has practiced with the physicians of The Eye Centers since 1995, providing primary eye care and serving as the Director of Contact Lens Care at the Oak Ridge location.

In practicing primary eye care, Dr. Kuneman performs routine eye examinations, fitting glasses and contact lenses, and diagnosing and treating eye diseases. In addition, he also works closely with the surgeons at The Eye Centers to provide pre- and post-operative care.

Dr. Kuneman is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Tennessee Optometric Association.

Dr. Kuneman enjoys numerous outdoor and sporting activities, and has volunteered his first aid skills by serving as a senior ski patroller for the National Ski Patrol at Ober Gatlinburg since 1985.
