Doctor of Optometry Thomas L. Gunter graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1977 and Southern College of Optometry in 1983.
A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Dr. Gunter has been in private practice in Roane County, Tennessee, since 1983. In 1999, Dr. Gunter joined The Eye Centers, and he continues to practice optometry at the Harriman location.
Dr. Gunter practices primary eye care, including routine examinations; glasses and contact lens fitting; refractive surgery/laser vision correction consultations; surgical pre- and post-operative care; and the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and injuries, including infections, diabetic eye monitoring, and glaucoma care.
Dr. Gunter is a member of the East Tennessee Optometric Association, the Tennessee Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Gunter is married to Dr. Jackie L. Greene Gunter; the couple has two sons.
