Astigmatism: Sometimes the surface of the cornea is curved more like a football, with both flatter and steeper curves.

When the surface of the cornea has an uneven curvature, vision becomes blurry.

This common irregularity, called "corneal astigmatism" causes blurred vision.

If you have astigmatism and are concerned primarily with improving distance vision, AcrySof Toric lens implants provide improved quality distance vision and decreased dependency on glasses as compared to traditional lens implants.

Most patients will still need to wear glasses for reading or working at a computer.
